Bartaku

PhoEfarium
2011

A Temporary Lapidarium of 'PhoEf: The Undisclosed Poésis of the Photovoltaic Effect', an artistic research project.

PhoEfarium is a work by artist/researcher Bartaku in which he combines photos inspired by mankind’s struggle for energy. It shows the intimate entanglement of mind and body with the transformation of light into electrical and nutritional energy. The photos are made during co-creation worklabs in which Bartaku invites the co-creators to make their own solar cells –from glass-based to edible solar cells.

The moment of testing produces images that capture the quest for power, in the hand or on the tongue sticking out to the Sun (Temporary photoElectric Digestopians).

PhoEfarium was first shown in 2011 at Halikonlahti Art Festival in Salo (Finland) - http://halikonlahtigreenart.blogspot.com

Bartaku is a Brussels based artist with a special interest in scientific tropes and hyperrealities. He is a member of transdiciplinary lab FoAM [http://fo.am] and co-founder of the r-ohm collective. He is supported by the Flemish Arts Agency.
