Laboratorijas darbs NR. 2
Mākslas Dienas Daugavpilī
Daugavpils pilsētvidē Mākslas dienu laikā tiks īstenotas projekcijas, kā ekrānus izmantojot ēku sienas. Vienlaicīgi būs vairāki ekrāni. Un saturiski ekrānos paredzēts projicēt gan reālistiskas, gan abstraktas variācijas par ēkā iekšā notiekošo. Ēka kā personiskā, intīmā un kolektīvā koeksistences telpa.
Pasākumu paredzēts īstenot divos vakaros (2004. gada 15. un 16. aprīlī).
Pirmās dienas vakarā paredzēts veikt performanci, eksperimentējot ar skaņu, tīkla kamerām un datu projektoriem. Eksperimentos tiks izmantotas jau sagatavotas video īsfilmas, fotogrāfijas un performances laikā nofilmētais materiāls.
Otras dienas vakarā arī tiks eksperimentēts ar skaņu un paralēli tiks veiktas dalībnieku iesūtīto materiālu projekcijas.

Laboratory work NR.2
Art days in Daugavpils
Facades of buildings will be used as big screens in the city of Daugavpils. The projections - abstract and realistic - will show, what's happening inside of those buildings. Building as personal, intime and collective space.
The event will take place two nights: 15th and 16th of April.
First night: performance with sound, net cameras and data projectors, using already existing short video films, photographies and live filming during the performance.
Project is supported by Daugavpils City Council, Daugavpils University and Union of art teachers.

Interaktīvā digitālā filmu veidošanas meistardarbnīca
Aizraujoša iespēja ne tikai iepazīt, bet arī uztaisīt pašam savu interaktīvu video filmu. Nepieciešamas nelielas priekšzināšanas, taču galvenais radoša doma, entuziasms un vēlme eksperimentēt ar video un digitālajām tehnoloģijām radošā atmosfērā pasaules pieredzējušākā (viena no) interaktīvā kino eksperta vadībā. Meistardarbnīca iesākas ar lekcijām, paraugiem un piemēriem. Šajā laikā dalībnieki izdomā paši savas idejas un realizē tās ar uz vietas pieejamo tehniku un pasniedzēja palīdzīgo roku. Darbnīca nav ļoti tehniska un drīzāk pievērš uzmanību nevis augstajām tehnoloģijām, bet gan inovatīvām un estētiskām vērtībā. Tiks apskatīti VISI interaktīvā kino veidi: spēles filmas, videoart, dokumentālās filmas, spēles, mūzikas klipi, interaktīvie televīzijas piloti un instalācijas.

Interactive Digital Moviemaking Workshop in Karosta
An exciting chance not only to learn about the possibilities of interactive video but to actually create one! Little previous knowledge is required except creative imagination and the enthusiasm to experiment with video and digital authoring techniques in a culturally stimulating environment, under the leadership of one of the world's most experienced interactive film experts. The workshop starts with lectures and case-studies, during which time students think up their own ideas - these can subsequently be filmed and authored using equipment provided on-site and under the constant attendance of Chris Hales. The course is not overly technical (but technical instruction in actual production techniques will always be given where appropriate) and uses "low cost" desktop equipment, concentrating on innovative and aesthetic issues rather than detailed technical complexities of delivery platform and software. ALL different genres of interactive movies will be explored, and it is anticipated that student's final projects might include interactive fiction films, videoart, documentaries, games, music videos, interactive TV pilots, and installation art.

Piknik Frequency ir pirmā no lokatīvo mediju radošajām darbnīcām, kas notiks projekta "Trans-Cultural Mapping" ietvaros 2004. gada laikā Latvijā, Franciijā, Islandē, Norvēģijā, Slovēnijā un Somijā.
Lokatīvo mediju radošo darbnīcu uzmanības centrā ir dažādas atšķirīgas pieejas - GPS, teksti, skaņa, DV, arhitektūra u.c. - lokatīvai kultūras informācijai un dokumentācijai.

Piknik Frequency Ry/Finland: LOCATIVE MEDIA WORKSHOP (pixelACHE 2004 Festival) is 5-day "locative media" workshop.
This workshop held during pixelACHE 2004 Festival is the first event in the series of 6 "Trans-Cultural Mapping" workshops. It will aim to explore and share locative aspects of documentation, context and content. A small international group of media artists, performers and researchers (8-12 persons) with tangential experience of 'locative' documentation, covering different disciplines are invited to attend. It is hoped this will include approaches ranging from textual, sound, digital film, GPS, performance, architecture, and archaeology, including recent/current locative media projects.
