“Vācijas kultūras mēneša O!VĀCIJA” ietvaros Rīgā RIXC piedāvā Vācijas mūziķu HMSS performanci un interaktīvu skaņu instalāciju “Pilsēttelpas” (“Urban Spaces”).

HMSS ir elektroakustiska mūzikas žanra improvizācijas grupa no Vācijas, kurā piedalās mūziķi Ludger Hennig (Leipciga), Markus Markowski (Brēmene), Hans Holger Rutz (Veimāra) un Johannes Sienknecht (Berlīne). Grupa pastāv kopš 2006. gada, un tās mērķis ir padarīt improvizāciju mūzikā daudzpusīgāku, izmantojot programmēšanu kā elektroakustisku mūzikas instrumentu. HMSS muzikālo materiālu veido noise un ambient žanram raksturīgais skanējums, kā arī dzīvo skaņu ainavu izmantošana.

HMSS skaņu mākslas performanci varētu raksturot kā netradicionālu mūzikas koncertu vairāku iemeslu dēļ - ja parasti skaņa tiek vadīta caur 1 vai 2 kanāliem, tad HMSS sniegtajā koncertā Rīgā tiks izmantota speciāli sagatavota 4 kanālu skaņu instalācija, ļaujot klausītājiem skaņu pieredzēt ne tikai akustiski, bet arī telpiski. Koncerts būs īpaša, elektroakustiska tīkla improvizācija, kuras laikā klausītāji varēs pārvietoties telpā, un tādējādi dažādi izjust skaņu arhitektūru, kurā tiks iekļauta arī Rīgas pilsētas skaņu ainava.

Koncertā izveidotais skaņas materiāls būs pamatā HMSS veidotajai skaņu instalācijai, kas pēc koncerta tiks uzstādīta RIXC Mediju telpā un kas būs apskatāma vēl 14 dienas pēc performances. Koncerta tiešraide būs pieejama arī plašākai publikai internetā.

RIXC is proud to present HMSS / Germany concert-performance and interactive sound installation 'Urban Spaces' in the framework of Month of German Culture in Latvia entitled “O!VĀCIJA”.

HMSS is an ensemble for electroacoustic noise-improvisation consisting of Ludger Hennig (Leipzig) Markus Markowski (Bremen), Hanns Holger Rutz aka sciss (Weimar) and Johannes Sienknecht (Berlin). The ensemble exists since the beginning of 2006 and, searching to extend musical improvisation through electroacoustic software-instruments. The musical material of HMSS consists mostly of noise and ambient sounds but also live-soundscapes which are interconnected within a signal-network.

HMSS sound art performance could be described as a rather nontraditional music concert due to several reasons – if the sound is usually distributed trough 1 or 2 channels, then during concert in Riga HMSS will be using a special 4 channel sound installation for visitors to experience the sound both acoustically and spatially. During the performance which will be a special electroacoustic network improvisation the visitors will be able to move around using the space to percieve the architecture of sounds, which will feature urban soundscape from Riga city.

The material of HMSS performance will further serve as groundwork for the sound installation, which will be exhibited in RIXC Media space for 14 more days after the performance. The performance will be streamed on-line for Internet audiences.
