ENERGY ABUNDANCE WORKSHOP
Architecture for a world where power is always on

Conducted by Ludger Hovestadt & Vera Bühlmann, ETH Zurich

In the near future, information technology will be able to map the technology needed for the production and distribution of energy. This means, similar to what we have experienced with data throughout the last century, kilowatt will be available in abundance just like kilobyte is today. Such an abundance with energy will raise great challenges for how to organize our environments, in political as well as in cultural terms.

The workshop is on how to design, plan and construct on the basis of an energy abundance. The course mainly (but not exclusively) addresses students from the fields of architecture, design, and the arts.
